We spent our spring break in St. Lucia last year, and it was truly unforgettable! Every day was packed with fun adventures, from ziplining through the rainforest to snorkeling in the clearest blue water. But the best part was meeting some locals who made us feel right at home. We laughed a lot, explored a ton, and made the kind of memories that we will cherish forever. St. Lucia, you stole our hearts!
Casa de Campo Lo Tiene Todo (HAS IT ALL)
Have you heard of a place called Casa de Campo? Well… if you haven’t, then I guess you haven’t been reading the tabloids on celebrity whereabouts or luxury travel mags like Condé Nast Traveler spotlighting getaway locations for the rich and famous.
Casa de Campo is one of the world’s most exclusive resorts and located on the southeast coast of the Dominican Republic. DR’s own designer, Oscar de la Renta, himself did the original interior designing for the resort. Since then, it has hosted so many Very Important People.
Alas, we didn’t see any VIPs during our visit, but I am sure there were some hiding in their luxurious villas. The top reasons VIPs love to stay here are the security, the discretion of staff, and all the available activities within this massive, 7,000-acre resort community. In addition, they offer renowned golf courses, pristine beaches, a marina to dock yacht, the famous “town” of Altos de Chavon, an equestrian center and polo club, and a shooting center.
Casa de Campo has it all! You can have your ultimate getaway with plenty of things to do within the property. Here are a few of the activities that we did during our visit:
Horseback Riding
You can’t visit Casa de Campo without going for horseback riding.

Their equestrian center offers extensive activities and is one of the best in the Caribbean.
Cuba with Kids
I was devastated to hear the latest news on proposed Cuban travel restrictions (I’ll update this post when official policies/rules/laws are available). But it could be back to square one!!!
I haven’t really blogged this year, and with the possibility of the upcoming restrictions, I thought it is fitting to tell you about our trip to Cuba from early this year. We love this country and we are so thankful we got the chance to visit. We will forever treasure the moments with the Cubans who we have met, some of whom have become our friends for life.
Why We Love Turks and Caicos
We spent our 2018 Spring Break on the beautiful island of Providenciales, Turks and Caicos. We all fell in love with it and would definitely recommended it as a place to visit on your next Caribbean getaway.
Turks and Caicos is a destination for everyone, from honeymooners who want to just chill by the beach and to families with young kids who want some action-pack days (with some mommy and daddy time in between if you’re lucky to have a kid’s club). This island offers something special for all the ages.
Here are few things we love about Turks and Caicos.
A tiny Island of two nations – St. Marteen/ St. Martin
St. Marteen/ St. Martin is a unique island in the Netherlands Antilles in the Caribbean. The island is shared with the Dutch side in the South and the French side in the North. We got a last minute opportunity to stay on this beautiful island for a week recently. My hubby got given short notice of a business trip to the island and the rest of us jumped at the chance of going too. It was one of those trips where you have nothing planned and no agenda but have an amazing time and get to see a lot of new things. You know, sometimes unplanned adventures can be some of the best ones.
The island is no doubt a perfect place for families with kids. We love destinations that have gorgeous resorts but also have tons of things to see and do outside the resort. We travel to see new things/ places but bottom line we wanted to introduce the kids to a new culture, try new food, make new friends and experience a different way of life. So, we decided to stay 3 nights on the Dutch side and 3 nights on the French side to see what both sides can offer.
Beautiful Beaches of St. Marteen and St. Martin
St. Marteen and St. Martin offers a lot of things for travelers and the beaches won’t disappoint you. Like most Caribbean islands, it’s a destination to relax, enjoy the sand, sun, and crystal clear blue waters. These are some of the beaches that we visited during our stay.
