If you’re traveling to Southern France; the Cotes de Provence region is a must visit and best explored by car. It is the largest appellation of the Provence wine region. It covers thousands of acres of vineyards, which produce the vast majority of Provence’s Rosé wine. I love drinking Rosé so I thought a wine tasting trip to the region was simply perfect.
We were staying at Nice for few days, and apparently, there are a lot of options for wine tasting nearby; we decided to take a scenic drive out to see Chateau de Saint Martin. With its strong historical past, rich architectural heritage, oh! and award winning wines; there was no way we could skip this wine estate.
As we arrived in this place, we instantly fall in love. Perfect place to spend a quiet time with my Sweetie. It was during the week and we lucked out in that we were the only people around. It was pure bliss!

So finally our food arrived and it was one of the most enjoyable meals I have ever had. I had such a great lunch tasting all the goodies and talking about the place with my husband. The personal service we had was awesome and the price of it all was a fraction of what we paid at the tourist traps in Nice. To top the meal off we managed to taste some foie gras along with their award-winning Rosé.

After our lunch, we walked around the property. It was peaceful and beautiful – a prince and princess day walk:) Here are few pictures that I managed to save; unfortunately, I accidentally deleted a bunch of photos I took from my phone’s camera. Boooo….

I enjoyed the walk around the property. It was simply gorgeous… the flowers, the vineyard, and the view made it one of my favorite places to go back to.

Château de Saint Martin was established in the 18th century and has been supplying wine to fine restaurants and cellars all over the world for decades. The estate has been passed down the generations from mother to daughter since 1740. Renowned for it’s red, pink and white wines which are classified Cru Classe de Provence, this place is a must visit.
FYI: Cru Classe corresponds with the best traditional wines of Bordeaux, France from first growth or premier crus to fifth growth cinquie`mes crus.
In the chateau, they offer 5 rooms to rent (bed and breakfast), each one decorated in a different century style.
And in the summer, the family swimming pool is open for the guests. Guests will also be able to visit the ancient cellar, and taste their “Cru Classé” wines.
Next time, we will definitely stay for few days… with the kids of course 🙂

What is your favorite place that you would love to visit again?

Yeah, perfect for couples and for families with “not too young kids”. The history of this place starts way back from the Roman times… we are impressed how well they preserved it.
