Considering the Covid-19 pandemic, everyone’s worry about their safety, and many are opting for a staycation. So, when I got my US citizenship (Yay for that😊), my family decided to have a quick weekend celebration. We couldn’t think of a better place near us than the Grandscape at The Colony. The first time I visited a couple of months back, I felt that the kids would definitely love this place.

Grandscape is a new kind of destination that offers unique experiences for the whole family – from its outdoor entertainment to adrenalin-pumping karting, dining, and shopping – you are in for a great time!
Where to STAY?
Although our house is only a 20 to 30-minute drive, we wanted to stay overnight at a hotel to get the whole experience of “travel” and make it a special occasion (plus we wanted to celebrate with a little bubbly and not have to drive home). The Hampton Inn & Suites – The Colony didn’t disappoint.

Hampton Inn & Suites The Colony is just a few minutes walk/ drive to Grandscape. It offers convenience and comfort for the family, and as usual, Hilton properties always deliver value, consistency, and service to their customers.

We love the modern décor of The Hampton Inn & Suites – The Colony, especially the different accent walls in the lobby and the glass chandelier in the breakfast area; they are so colorful and light up your mood.

During these difficult times, most hotels are making an extra effort with cleanliness and their guests’ safety. So Hilton has partnered with Reckitt Benckiser, makers of Lysol & Dettol, to help deliver an even cleaner stay for all the guests with the creation of the Hilton CleanStay program.
We were impressed with how clean and neat everything is – from the lobby to corridors and rooms during our stay. It all looked spotless!

We noticed the Hilton CleanStay Room Seal with Lysol Protection over the door when we arrived, which means no one has accessed the room after the room being cleaned. It gives us peace of mind that the room is clean and ready for us.

The staff are friendly, helpful, and very accommodating with all our requests. And they rolled out the red carpet, white and blue; and surprise us with a lovely balloon and sweets to celebrate the occasion. Thank you so much!

Where to have tons of FUN?
Andretti Indoor Karting is North Texas’ new super cool and fun destination for the whole family. I am telling you, this place has so much to offer for kids, teenagers, and adults. We had a blast here, a place where we can all be a kid again, well… at least act like a kid again!

Vroom … Vroom…
Andretti Indoor Karting at Grandscape at The Colony is a new premier entertainment and an event destination that features high-speed electric Superkarts, over 120 state of the art arcade game, and ropes course zip line, two-level laser tag, virtual reality experiences, duckpin bowling and other.

When you get hungry and thirsty, you have food and drinks inside the facility for your convenience.
If you are looking to wow your guests with an unforgettable event, this is your place!
My family tried most of the games available and had a blast, most especially the karting. We joined the kids at the Junior track since they are too small for the intermediate.
To clarify: Parents can join with their kids at the Junior track as long as they will fit on the kart comfortably. Please check the guidelines online, and if you have any questions, you can always call and ask. They are accommodating and will answer all your questions politely.
For Covid 19 Precautions, please click here and call a specific facility where you go for more details.
Tip:
Come early just after opening if possible when it’s less crowded. During our visit, we noticed that it was bustling in the afternoon and evening times. It is hard to keep 6ft apart, really, so please wear your mask and bring your own sanitizers for easy and quick clean up after each game.

Where to EAT?
Twigs American Kitchen at Grandscape is an upscale restaurant that offers excellent food and drinks in a calm, relaxed, and welcoming atmosphere.

They have various options for all ages with hand-crafted cuisine, which changes with the freshest seasonal ingredients they can source locally. Their elevated wine list is a profile of the whole spectrum of flavor, and their local drafts and high-quality liquor complete the full-service bar where bartenders offer award-winning creations.

“To make your experience something memorable, each one of us is committed to service and crafting flavorful dishes and drinks with the freshest local ingredients.” – Twigs American Kitchen Mgt
Where to SHOP?
There are tons of shops at the Grandscape – The Homestead, but one shop stood up and became my favorite here. Creteation, which offers unique handcrafted jewelry made of cement and concrete. How cool is that!?! Everything is beautiful, so elegant and well made. The shop showcases handmade products from other local artists including homewares and decor.

First of all: congrats buena! in the last months travelling became a local business for many of us. A few weeks ago I had a dear dear friend of mine having birthday far away from her family, in a momento where nobody wants to party. We took our bikes and ride from Rome along the ancient appian way to the Roman Castles where we ate enjoying a wonderful lunch looking at the volcano lake (reservation and social distancing is mandatory) and we arrived in a beautiful agritourism near cori to enjoy dinner (it’s a wine region) and spend the night there. The next day we kept going up enjoying incredible panoramas to reach around 4pm the train station and go back to rome. It was especially relaxing to be close home but to enjoy the travel feeling and our friendship!
